Denver was the very initial Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. He is now Colorado's international image. Certainly in my travels you encounter someone on the other part of the globe, someone from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first thing they say is"Oh John Denver! Brown said. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief career performing in small folk-based group comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered the song's early versions and was aware that it would become an instant hit in the top 10. The song was recorded by the singer within a couple of days when he performed it in front of an enthusiastic audience in Washington D.C.
